Vine Sourdough Bakery is a wonderful place to go. I've written several blog posts and edited many images for the 365 Project while sitting in its brightly lit front room at the window on top of big black leather swirl seats with comfy backs so you can lean back while you sip black coffee out of locally handmade coffee cups watching the world go by on Main Street.
I've always felt comfortable there. It's not the kind of place you have to go with friends, but it's the kind of place that feels very inspiring and wonderful when you do. I've always felt welcome even at my worst. Teresa and Dean have worked hard to create a wonderful place for people to commune. Imagine my surprise and utter excitement when I was able to get a show there for the 365 Project.
As I prepared to hang the show at the start of week 49 I knew that I wanted to use some overlays from images taken at Vine specifically. I stopped by Saturday afternoon near the end of their day to take some shots. They have many beautiful plants on the property. Vines, flowers, aromatic herbs, vegetables, a small pond with lily pads surrounded by succulents (one of my favorite plants). I enjoyed taking the time to really see the beauty of their business beyond the food.
Immediately an image of daisies caught my eye. The week prior I was lamenting my dearth of recent floral images during week 48 for my Anne Frank garden theme. This was a great opportunity for me to carry out the idea of week 48 with a higher quality overlay. I intentionally chose blend modes that gave a greater sense of light. It's easy to go dark with the edits, but Vine as a place has a sense of lightness to it and it was important for me to bring that forth through the imagery.
That concludes week 49. Three more weeks to go! My mind is swimming with ideas and future plans. What did you like about this week's edits?
