Mystery of Wakulla Springs - limited edition matted and metal prints

from 30.00

On my way home from a January trip to St. George Island we made a stop at Wakulla Springs State Park. It was my first visit to this spring. This new series was in my mind and I was excited to get some good shots for it. Unfortunately for me it was a windy day which made for a very busy water surface. I couldn't see below to gather the enormity of this spring, the largest in the world.

Since I couldn't get the shot, I decided to recreate what the spring felt like. I had taken some shots of eel grass and of course rippling surface water. I purposely altered the color of the water to mimic the refreshing turquoise blue of springs. Are you looking down into the water, or resurfacing for air? I used Mystery in the title since this spring is still a mystery to me. Sure I could look up a picture of it online (and I did), but there's nothing quite like seeing something with your own eyeballs in real life.

A Certificate of Authenticity is included with each print.

Printing options for this limited edition, along with total available prints are as follows:

  • 30 - 4”x6” prints matted to 8”x10” museum grade mat board. I have used a soft gloss rag paper (museum grade) that gives the piece a slight shimmer and great depth of color. Matted prints come in a clear bag with protective closure. ($30)

  • 10 - 12”x18” metal prints with exhibit mount backing, 3/4 inset frame, wired to hang. The surface has EXT performance coating which allows for display of print outdoors (e.g. outdoor pool area) and in direct sunlight for 2-3 years without noticeable fading. Only metal prints with this coating can stand the elements, otherwise it is highly recommended that you protect your metal prints from direct sunlight and the outdoors. In addition, Xenon Light Stability Testing results show that the image stability of metal prints is 2 to 4 times the image stability of traditional silver based photo papers. ($350)

  • 5 - 24”x36” metal prints with exhibit mount backing, 3/4 inset frame, wired to hang, and EXT performance coating. ($1750)

  • 1 - 40”x60” metal print with exhibit mount backing, 3/4 inset frame, wired to hang, and EXT performance coating. ($4000)
